I bought this lovely journal as a gift for a housewarming present. It was so successful I ended up buying a load of them when all my friends at the dinner party showed such delight in it! It has been my gift of the year and has made a lovely present for so many friends. It’s one of those gifts that’s something a little different, practical, suitable as a 'couples' gift, and every time it’s met with such warmth. It has earned me the title of ‘great gifter’!!

This is my wife’s review: It arrived a bit scuffed on the cover. I read about these hostess journals through a podcast. It’s a great idea to keep a log of all the people you’ve hosted in your home, what you cooked, drank, who sat where, allergies, dietary restrictions. A great edition to our kitchen cookbook.

Let me start by saying, I absolutely hate giving useless, generic gifts. That's why I LOVE this book and so far...everyone who I've given this to has really loved it too. It's a gift that's unexpected and I've found that most people don't have something like it, which makes this perfect for someone, "who has everything." I have given other hostess books as gifts before, but this is the first one that feels easy to actually fill out because it's only two pages for each event. SO much so, I bought it for myself too. It's really nice as a reference to recall what I've made for guests so I don't make the same thing the next time they visit our house. I mean, let's face it, I can't be the only one who has a few prize "company" recipes. Ha! I was unsure about the shapes of the table on the top of the page, but I actually really like it for remembering where everyone sat. It has helped us remember who told us certain stories and I even made a note of two friends who are left-handed...so I now make sure the head of table is ready for them to avoid all of the elbow bumping. I've added this book to my Amazon list so I can buy it again for future gifts.
